Well...now that 2008 is coming to a close. I want to sit back and take a gander at what I've accomplished...nah, that'd take too long. So I'm just going to throw together a list of what I hope to accomplish next year.
₧ Start my podcast: yep, a podcast is in the works (and has been for quite some time now.)
₧ Get my Amateur General class radio license.
₧ Use my Mac for all computer uses except gaming: its inevitable.
₧ Get some sort of organization going in my room and stick with it.
₧ Travel more: I'd really love to venture overseas.
₧ Take more pictures and geotag them.
₧ Meet up with some online friends: Myspace gave this a bad name but not everyone is a serial killer :/
₧ Flawlessly upgrade my house to Digital TV: I'm scared...NOT!
Just copy and paste the following to get your own.
It's gonna look like this:

Here's a link to MSNBC's election 2008 results.
Yep...tonight, the United States of America has elected Barack Obama the 44th president of our great country.
Myspace is getting a lot of mixed reviews these days. You either like Myspace or you don't. I personally think the idea of a website profile that my friends can view to see what I'm up to is a great idea. I hate you Emo assholes who started all these chain surveys. YOU are the SOLE REASON Myspace is frowned upon.
1) Posting bulletins with suicide-related subjects "Last hope," "its over," "why am I still alive," "holding my breath," "lets give this one last shot," "about to give up"...you get the idea.
2) People...if I cared what the last thing you said aloud was...I'd ask, trust me. Posting links in bulletins to other sites that have you log-in to take a survey is just sad. I took a few minutes to visit a few of these sites prior to this post. When I see Firefox tell me that just blocked 8, 10, 15+ pop-ups...there's usually a little red flag that pops up in my head saying "maybe...just maaayybee, this is not a good site."
3) Gossip. When you answer the question "last person that touched you" with "________," is that not insinuating you two are doin' it?
4) Advertising. Now that all the "emos" have a place they can congregate...businesses got smart and put up some ads. Those "some" ads...have turned into many ads. When you take a survey, modify your profile, put videos, pics and such up on your profile by putting the code on your site...you are officially that company's bitch. You're theirs...they've got their name on your site. Oh yeah...that's not so gangsta is it?
5) WTFfactor. The WTFfactor as I call it...is that reaction when someone finds out you know more about them then they thought you did and realize you found out online. You'll shit bricks if you truly understood how easy it is to get information on people that use bad sites. "I got a new email address cuz my old one got so damn much spam." NO SHIT...oh and that time when you took that survey at #####.com and you had to create an account has nothing to do with it? Now #####.com has your email address and other information you supplied, your ip address (your computer's street address on the information suphighway called the internet,) and your internet browser version (to collect data on which browser should they exploit more.)
Ok...so if giving out information so that anyone will know everything about you is all the rage these days...leave me out. You people are wasting your time asking me to "join your Myspace Mafia" because of the fact that I'm above that, and so should you.
Somebody please tell me:
Why, when a city UNDER sea level floods, it gets national attention for weeks.
Why, when a city UNDER sea level floods, those who refuse to leave receive government funding in the BILLION $$$ to repair their lives.
Why, when a city UNDER sea level floods, they don't build up the dams and are supposed to keep out all that water.
New Orleans officials said earlier today that they neglected to build up the levees because Katrina was a "once in a 100yrs" storm. So far, Gustav is that second "once in a 100yrs" storm...just THREE years after Katrina? Time to re-configure some terminology? Don't get me wrong, I feel for these people...but don't ya think after this bad of luck...maybe its time to stop flogging the dead horse? Its gonna be a miracle if New Orleans will ever be even close to what it was just 3yrs ago (pre-Katrina.)
We've seen a lot of changes since Apple released Mac OS X back in early 2001. Jaguar (10.2), Panther (10.3), Tiger (10.4), and Leopard (10.5) all presented something new. But as we learned thus far at WWDC 2008...we're not to expect some 300 new features as Leopard brought us. No, clearly Apple's head is in another place. Steve Jobs let out in his keynote that Mac OS X 10.6 was to be dubbed Snow Leopard. Could this incline to Apple being a bunch of pussies? Or that cats are agile, quick, streamlined, and beautiful? From reading a bit on Apple's Snow Leopard site, one can quickly gather that they are doing everything but backing down. Apple pointed out that Snow Leopard will have a emphasis on Microsoft Exchange capability, 64bit kernel allowing a theoretical 16TB of RAM, Multicore Processors, Media and OpenCL. OpenCL is the key here. They claim OpenCL "makes it possible for developers to efficiently tap the vast gigaflops of computing power currently locked up in the graphics processing unit." Wikipedia also pointed me in the direction of a new project at Intel, Larabee. And the tech gods said "let there be light!"
Ok, to add my name to the list of a billion sites that covered Steve Jobs' WWDC 2008 Keynote...here goes. The main focus of the keynote was in fact the iPhone. Jobs brought out Scott Forstall, VP of Platform Experience, to go over the iPhone's SDK and changes to it. Changes include new interface developer, Xcode, and iPhone emulator. He stressed how easy it is going to be to make third party apps for the iPhone and how clients/users would get their hands on it via the App Store. Jobs came back to go over changes in the new iPhone...iPhone 3G. The iPhone was released at a price of $599 for the 8gb version about a year ago. Today, the 8gb iPhone 3G will retail for $199.
As my last post suggests, I have a few blogs. So tonight I am gonna throw down a list of some, probably most, of the websites I have a Login name/password for. Out of these many sites such as Gmail or Flickr, I may have multiple accounts for. I just want this list so the next time Firefox asks me to "remember my password" I can proudly say "Hell yes."
