Gustav

Posted by ™E

Somebody please tell me:
Why, when a city UNDER sea level floods, it gets national attention for weeks.
Why, when a city UNDER sea level floods, those who refuse to leave receive government funding in the BILLION $$$ to repair their lives.
Why, when a city UNDER sea level floods, they don't build up the dams and are supposed to keep out all that water.

New Orleans officials said earlier today that they neglected to build up the levees because Katrina was a "once in a 100yrs" storm. So far, Gustav is that second "once in a 100yrs" storm...just THREE years after Katrina? Time to re-configure some terminology? Don't get me wrong, I feel for these people...but don't ya think after this bad of luck...maybe its time to stop flogging the dead horse? Its gonna be a miracle if New Orleans will ever be even close to what it was just 3yrs ago (pre-Katrina.)
