I got involved with 88.9 KSTM, our college radio station and threw a show together. Mainly, its just music and The Onion for now, and my scheduling sucks with my firefighter classes. So here's the gist.

ALSO...I co-host another show with a few friends of mine but they don't have shit up for site yet other than Facebook group. So you can hit me up on Facebook or search Rodge and Stew show or my very own Thundershow [Sorry Gary V. - Simpson College Storm...Storm radio...Thundershow :)]
Just stopped to jot a few things down about my latest fascination. Ever since @OverclokT hit Twitter way back when, I haven't been too terribly active. Nowadays its what I do...I would love to revive this blog and it WILL happen within the next few weeks. I make my name online everyday, whether I'm blogging, Tweeting or scrobbling. Most recently I have been tweeting and neglecting my blog, but for good reason. Back in mid June of this year, I had some issues with my ISP...long story short I'm back now and better than ever. I'm going to be attending Simpson College this year and so I bought a laptop. Anyway, I'm finally capable of doing most of the things I've wanted to do thus leading to a podcast being produced somewhere in the midst. More info to follow.
Here's my major gripe about the LG UX830 aka the LG Glimmer.
1) Using the touchscreen while receiving a txt message. The phone will lag and it will open the message no matter what I'm doing.
2) Most of the time when I plug the phone into charge it thinks I've plugged in a computer and changes my wallpaper to default.
3) It says it can hold 400 messages in the inbox when you look at system memory stats but when I get about 200 in there it is generally 100% full and I'm forced to delete/clear.
4) I cannot lock text messages to save in my inbox. Picture and video messages I can but not text messages. I cal also lock sent messages for some odd reason.
5) Picture browsing is slow and laggy.
6) If I have a picture set to a contact on the phone and I hit their speed dial number, it will automatically call that person without me having to hit more than the number. This sucks because I rarely call people.
7) It's a pain in my ass to type numbers while in T9 Word entry mode as you have to switch the phone to 123 input instead and then back to T9.
8) The MicroSD memory card is in a hugely inconvenient spot. Having to remove the battery cover to get to.
9) No separate speaker for the ringer instead it rings through the earpiece thus bringing a lower call/voice quality.
10) I'm going to use #10 to re-iterate how bad the text messaging is on this phone. With the touchscreen and no arrowpad, it's hard to go back and insert characters into already typed text.
There's some more and when I've got time I may come back and update this post. As for now, I'm off shopping for a BlackBerry Storm :)
Recently, a bicyclist was hit by a truck on a local farm road here. The cyclist states that he and a friend of his were riding on the highway when the truck hauling two anhydrous ammonia tanks came up behind them with the horn wailing. The driver of the truck then proceeded to pass the bikers but failed to give the cyclists enough room, passing "within a foot." One of the anhydrous tanks tagged Doug Smith's handlebars sending him to the ground and consequently running Smith over. Smith was sent to the hospital with a broken pelvis, fractured skull and a concussion. As for the driver...he was cited for passing in a no passing zone. Now, Iowa lawmakers are debating a law that would require drivers to give cyclists a five foot cushion when passing. I am strongly in favor of this as I don't cycle alot but I have many friends that do and when I do get out and ride, I was us all to be safe. I own many vehicles, I also own bikes...same for many cyclists out there. Some rather ignorant people commented on this story complaing because cyclists aren't paying road taxes on a mythical "bicycle license." Let me tell you that most of the cyclists out there work for a living like you, own a vehicle, pay taxes of all kinds...just like you and me but chose to ride a bike. Whether it be for fitness, going green or working up to RAGBRAI.
There are many opinions on this story at KCCI's website and has exploded with ties to many controversial issues. For more on this story you can find the original via KCCI News. What do you think? @OverclokT me on Twitter or comment here.
Today (4/3/09) marks the day Twitter got blocked at my high school. I was on Twitter.com checking a friend's updates when I had to make a run up to the library where I had printed some things for my movie review of "Milk." When I got back (no more than 10mins later,) Twitter.com was blocked. This is added to the already blocked Myspace and YouTube.
